actually, Johnm22, this page alone is a good indication of the confusion that can be caused when some local band uses another band's name. Why do you keep changing the artist description to put your boys first? You're like a 14-year old nu-metal fan circa 1999 let loose on the internet with your me first and fuck everyone else mentality. You should have more respect for other people's art.

The real problem here is that LastFM is yet to create a system for distinguishing between artists with the same name. I have spoke to mods personally about this issue, and they have assured me they're working on a solution. Until then I guess we'll all just have to live with it.

It is perfectly legal, and quite common, for multiple artists to use the same name. In legal terms it's reffered to as: The likelyhood of confusion. In this case, since the two artists are very different (musically), it would be highly unlikely that two would get confused. Therefore nothing is wrong with my Chrysalis using the name.

I fixed the page. Put a pic of the real Chrysalis from the 1960's as the default, and changed the artist description to list the bands chronologically, which is fair. I only hope that this Johnjm22 kid doesn't mess with the page again. It's selfish & childish. Johnjm22, the local band that you manage is using someone else's name. Please at least be decent enough to leave this page alone.

I don't get why bands aren't listed chronologically. This is not the first time I see a cool 60's band with their name ripped off by some metalheads but the thing that pisses me off is that nobody lists them in chronological order and the pic chosen is always from the newer band. Don't-fucking-get-it.

not cool, man. i'm sure that your Chrysalis are a nice bunch of guys and good at what they do, but you know, the name already belongs to somebody else. the honorable thing to do at this point would be to change the name. i know that you're working hard to get their name and music out there, and doing a pretty good job of it, but please, don't shit on another person's art in the process.
