"If you really wanna know, I'm barely making it through the day" gotta be one of the most painful, but also, honest admission to end his recent project. Almost 50 minutes of emotional material and he ends it like that... the gun in my closet just flew to my hand like Thor's hammer 😂😂😂

Yeah! I loved Wavves, Best Coast, etc. very much. Honestly, they were really fun bands during that time period even though they were heavily criticized. Not to mention the whole chillwave thing with Washed Out. Girls were really good live. I remember I met them after the show and JR (rip) asked me "Do you have coke?" and I said "No" and he said "Dammit" and walked away. I'll never forget that haha.

I think the new one is better than the other two by leaps and bounds. Doesn't touch Girls, but it's pretty good.

Chris solo work is the reason why producers are needed. [2] Even more so now with this newer one.

Well. Not too sure about this new album. I would say this record is misstep, but this seems to be the direction that Owens has been wanting to take his music for quite some time. I noticed more of a lavish and full sound in his writing ever since the Broken Dreams Club EP. I defended the hell out of Lysandre last year and I still think that record was overlooked as there was a lot of great stuff going on in there. This one full embraces his love for country and that americana sound, but I'm not sure if it's connecting with me as much. Which is a shame, cause I've been such a fan of his work for awhile now.

Lysandre features in our Top 100 albums of the year (100-50)! http://www.peterguy.merseyblogs.co.uk/2013/12/getintothis-top-50-albums-that.html

I was going crazy trying to figure out where I had heard the vocal melody on Everywhere You Knew before. I finally figured it out, Backstreet Boys - As Long As You Love Me.

Abandoning the wind instruments was a necessary move, but Lysandre Acoustic still feels like less than half of Girls' capacity :(

I don't understand the hate at all, his album is beautiful! But I guess when bands split up and members of it goes solo, people always tend to complain, well I liked it :)

The more I listen to it, the more I think I enjoy it. I knew I liked it on my first listen but the melodies and the story have been stuck in my head since I first heard it two or so months ago. Riviera Rock is the only track I skip.

Finally got around to listening to this. Disappointed. Many of the same chord progressions from Album, Broken Dreams Club, Father Son. I'm afraid Mr. Owens is out of ideas.
