Pre-orders are up for the official COB biography written by Janne, Henka, and Jaska \m/ releases in August, very excited to read this. It has input from Alexandar as well and Alexi's sister said they have the full support of his family.

So hard to believe it's been that long, or that he's even gone in the first place :'(

I worry that the band will eventually be forgotten by younger generations. While many know them because they are still relatively modern and millenial metalheads still talk about em', they are not as famous as other bands that no longer exist like Pantera or Slayer, which are still listened to by many young people, and Children of Bodom deserve the same legendary status.

People will find them again eventually, and they're still really popular. Music like this won't get forgotten, legends never die :)

One of my biggest regrets to this day is not going to see them during their last tour here in Finland, that was with Katatonia too, which i've never seen either! I was just becoming a really big fan of Bodom around the time too, and those last 3 albums were their best since the ones with the original line-up IMO. Well... none of us expected Alexi would go that young, despite the health problems. Really such a shame, one of my favorite bands and i still wish i would've went there when i was considering :(

None of us? Man, it was certainly no shock to me but I knew his history... and he also had a close call around 2015 when he was hospitalised. He was almost a skeleton by the end, it was so sad to see him in that state. Some photos are shocking, he was not well - but he was playing and performing better than he had in over a decade. Must have been incredibly draining to perform when his body was failing, he never ate much. Roope said on tour he would only really drink. Him saying to Janne that he had given up and was going to 'drink until he dies' was an awful thing to lay on his bandmate.

I mean... yes, you're right about that, perhaps i worded it weirdly. What i meant is that while i knew his lifestyle wasn't the best out there, i still thought i'd get a chance to see him later too, my point is that you never know when something's gonna happen.

Children of Bodom is goated and I love them a lot. It's sad to see such a talented man fade away into metal heaven so soon. Rest in Power Alexi Wildchild Laiho 🕊️🤘

Oh, bless your gatekeeping little heart, Darrell. I’ve probably shredded my ears with ‘Hate Crew Deathroll’ more times than you’ve faked knowing the lyrics to ‘Everytime I Die.’ Let people honor a Legend without auditioning for your imaginary metal purity council. Also, calling someone a 'poser' in the metal scene is like playing 'Enter Sandman' at a guitar store - so overdone it’s practically a meme at this point. Got anything fresh, or are you still rocking your middle school comebacks?

It's still hard to realize that Alexi is no longer with us and the group that was with me for half of my life has gradually faded into history. But I am sure that the Children clearly deserved to be big part of the metal legacy during Laiho's lifetime.

I remember being 15 and hearing the opening riff to Needled 24/7 for the 1st time. I was a fan for life after that and it blew my little metalhead mind. Still the band I've seen the most times live 20 years later. RIP Alexi, you're a fucking legend
