yeah a lot of cc fans hate barnes and most people in the death metal fanbase in general don't like him. personally i think he's cc's best vocalist, but corpsegrinder does a good job as well. i usually upload original art as much as possible to this site because everybody loves to upvote reissued covers or remastered art thats on spotify or smth. i hate it its why i got last.fm pro LOL

They take it too literal. Metal such as Cannibal Corpse is a good outlet, long as you don't act on it. I can understand not liking these kind of bands but it's still art. If people can take a banana and tape it to a whiteboard and call it art then the same applies to all music no matter how morbid they might be.

I'm in middle school. Other kids listen to that Taylor Swift bullshit while I'm over here listening to this. It makes the connection you have with people who listen to the same thing even stronger. I remember people being so disturbed by the cover for Eaten Back To Life so I showed them the covers for Worm Infested and Tomb of the Mutilated 💀😭

I don't think so. Barnes slayed on first four albums (especially on ToTM) and so Corpsegrinder does on the rest of the records. Vocals are key factor in their music - take it or leave it.

The same happened with Zyklon B and Arghoslent. Latter band has direct connection in lyrics with neonazizm and racism, so it's partially understandable (but it's censorship anyway). But Zyklon B excluding band's name has nothing in common with Nazi Germany.

To be honest, if we take todays Barnes, it is safe to say anybody > Barnes. He did a really good job on early CC albums and took it to the next level in a way back then but now dude is like a caricature of himself. And still their most essential stuff was released with Barnes. It is what it is. It's like Black Sabbath with Ozzy in a way. I mean like Ozzy is obviously not the best singer in the world and basically anyone who came in a band after him was more skilled as a singer (I'm talking more about technical aspect of singing here), but still the most essential and groundbreaking BS stuff was released while he was in a band and he really added a lot to the bands recognizable sound and personality.
