Biography
Audiovox formed in the winter of 2008 when singer/guitar player/keyboardist Martin Bush (Salt the Earth) recruited Billy Johnson (Reggie and the Full Effect, Shots Fired, Frogpond) to form a synthesizer driven pop rock duo. Arriving to mesmerized audiences and critical acclaim (winner "Best New Act" 2009, and "Best Pop Act" 2010 at Kansas City's Pitch Music Awards), Audiovox has captivated the Midwest with its unique, hook infected sound, intelligent heart-on-sleeve lyrics, and hopelessly catchy melodies.
In the short time since its inception, Audiovox has shared the stage with the likes of Passion Pit, Owl City, and The Airborne Toxic Event, garnered the attention of Kansas City alternative station 96.5 the Buzz (receiving regular airplay and performing at multiple station sponsored events), and has developed a rapidly growing, loyal fanbase.
In the spring of 2010, Audiovox entered the studio with producer/engineer Chris Cosgrove to record their first full length, "This Could Change Everything." Fusing influences from The Cars and The Beach Boys to The Rentals and Guided By Voices, Audiovox has crafted a sound that is as unique as it is timeless.
