Stockholm native Axel Wilner found his spiritual home on Kompakt records back in '95 through a mutual love of shoe-gazer-rock, and some mild adoration of the label's creator Wolfgang Voigt and his projects M:I:5 and GAS. This led to the new fusion of ambient and techno known as The Field, and began a very respectable career for this DJ/producer. Since the acclaimed release 'From Here We Go sublime' The Field has toured the planet extensively, and the inclusion of his songs on various blogs around the web (most notably his remix of Scandinavian rockers 120 Days) ensured his fan-base has grown exponentially with time. Having grown weary of the limitations of the 'one-man-and-his-laptop' format he enlisted the help of percussionist Dan Enqvist and multi-instrumentalist Andreas Söderstrom, who have helped to add a whole new, multi-layered aspect to the soundscapes. Together they are working on a brand new album, to be released on May 18th on Kompakt recs.
