I’ve gotten better at it, I think. I went back into the files of some of my early tracks and cleaned up some things I’d come to see as flaws in the sound. (When I could -- in a couple cases I’ve lost the original work files, probably when a laptop irreparably broke last summer. Actually developed a crack, split, and broke in half.)

And the other main thing I did in preparing that album, other than sequencing tracks and building segues between them [there is one new segue I’ve created since posting it, so I guess that will exist on the physical album, if I ever actually create it] was various copyright workarounds. Like I excised a sample here and there, created a couple of original sounds that more or less played the part in the track that a sample originally had, etc. So now it’s like this frankensteinian stuff that was originally plunderphonic and now… only kind of is.

F. W. Tittenbrow’s a name from a dream. A friend pointed out that it must stand for Friedrich Wilhelm, and I agree. (Also a friend from Austria said that tittenbrau is indeed what they would actually call a, you know, breast beer, if there were one.)

First track of Visions from Fuel sounds like chillwave x U2 on acid Lol, in a good way but admittedly is a bit queer for my taste... On 2nd track: Alanis?? that's one of my many 90's baby girls so that's cool (re: "bit queer for my taste", yea well I've soft spot for 90's hits.) Kinda has a Culturcide vibe too. I prefer the onion, but this is still interesting. A lot of it makes me think of 2010's chillwave like NazcarNation or Washed Out.

Well, I watched it at my neighbor's house in college, loaded out of my mind. I have a DVD of that movie that I believe is just regular whatever region America is.

I finally watched Belladonna last night... It is PHENOMENAL. Outright brilliant, and the flow is so interesting. The cinematography has explosions of watercolor animation and it's balanced with stills that scroll across the screen to the next flux of colors. The score propels and attenuates on spot, it's meticulous in it's points. Definitely recommend.

Wow, really? I'd love to learn that actually. I love mushrooms, they're my favorite food, learning anything about them would be totally fascinating to me because they're so mysterious! Audacity is pretty powerful for freebie stuff. And yea, the States are fuckin bonkers atm. I'm in upstate NY. I actually just started recording on my old 4 track.

btw, you should totally get an Sp-404sx. it'd be perfect for what you're doing. I used to have 2 but sold em for rent. theyre worth the money... endless fun/creativity. you could chop your stuff up in Audacity, throw it on an SD and pop it into the sampler and re-sample/recreate and yada yada in realtime.

I think a friend of mine has something similar. But when I've seen him play with it, I wasn't yet into recording. I do imagine I'd dig it... doing stuff in real time would be a lot different from what I've been doing. I just put up a new EP that I like a lot.
