Have you checked out Steve Kilbey's collaboration with Frank Kearns (from Cactus World News)? You can find the digital album on Amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/Speed-Stars/dp/B01H4BFAUM/ref=smi_se_mit_rcol_smi_2628204422?_encoding=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0&pldnCmp=rcol&pldnCrt=my-impact
The Church/Furs show was excellent! I brought my 18-year old daughter, and a few of my friends came as well. My daughter was quite impressed. As snowfaller mentioned, "The Disillusionist" was a treat. My one regret is that the Church didn't play longer. During the last song ("Miami"), the roadies started taking Tim's drum kit down while he was still playing. Quite a sight! Hope you can catch a show.
I saw the Furs in 2001, good performance but basically a hits show (and totally ignoring the last two albums). Hope it's a little different this time. Steve promises Church surprises so maybe Richard will take a cue from him.
Thanks for the message, Peter. Yes, we do enjoy the same sort of music. As you may have noticed, some of my favorite bands are from Australia, The Church and Midnight Oil being two of them. I caught The Church on their tour a few months ago. They still sound great, and I really like the new album. Cheers!
Hello Peter, Yes. I saw the Church in Cincinnati on their 2015 tour. Performance was very inspired. Miami was incredible live! This is my 12th Church concert. Definitely the top four performance by the band. We missed Marty and his Rickenbacker, however Ian was a suitable replacement. Wish both Marty and The Church Band a prosperous future!
Darn. I wasn't even trying, but thank you. Complimenting someone's tumblr is almost synonymous with complimenting the mind. I humbly appreciate it m8. May you find $100 on the ground today. Treat yourself.
It's on you tube actually, that's where we watched it. There are a couple of different versions with different soundtracks, but the one we watched worked really well. I can see if I can get what it was - not sure which we watched.
Give it another go now, you may be pleasantly surprised. Or at least you'll get a nap out of it. :) I'm not sure I'd have given a silent movie a chance 20 years ago, but I've been watching a few lately. Partially because my daughter seems to be really into them and asks me to watch with her.
I watched it for the first time recently, loved it! It's the scene when the 'robot' is dancing for the club members (the guys in the avatar). I imagine it'd have been a controversial scene at the time. Even now, in some places.
I've heard one song from that album so far, but I wonder if it didn't get released in the US yet because I'm having a hard time finding it unless I order it online. I did like the song I listened to off of it though. I think it was "Pride Before a Fall"
