4 months on from your question...
aye, pretty groovy. I wasn't so sure about the soft/loud dynamics earlier on - you know what I'm like with harsh, trebley sounds, and some of the snare hits had me physically jumping and feeling sore..
apart from that, qualidad
It's unreal. The local supermarket doesn't have meat, fresh fruit and veg. There are SO MANY fast food places, all with the same grade meat... you just can't avoid them! it's pretty upsetting. And the fact that I only have a microwave and hob is a pain... I'm getting bored of lentils.
Hey William, I noticed you posted that were going to be attending God Is An Astronaut, Tues 9th Nov at King Tuts, Glasgow. The Lava Experiments are the local support that night. We'll be on at 8:30pm. If you haven't got your tickets yet, We have a few that we are selling for £6. If interested ping me an email on firstname.lastname@example.org and I'll sort you out. If you don't need our cheapy tickets then I hope you can make it along to catch our set anyway. X
I haven't seen her since 2007 (supporting Thee More Shallows in Leeds) so I'd be very happy to catch her at some point! Wish I could have got to one of the Grails shows too, but I was busy / skint / too far away / etc.
After about 2 or 3 listens, I'm really enjoying it. At first I was a little surprised at a few parts of the record, but now it all seems to fit in place nicely. Supposedly she's hitting the road supporting Wolves In The Throne Room soon.
According to the booklet, the 3 tracks are: Black Medik II, Blood Run Red, Lead Coffin. However, I read on Rose Kemp's site that track one is called Black Medik (without the II) so I dunno if it's a typo or whatever. I'm treating the booklet as correct anyway.
I was just about to drop you a line to ask how you found The Replacements and that you definitely shall have to check out Cursive after you've got through my other recommendations (I'm now rediscovering Domestica and remembering how ABSOLUTELY AWESOME it is) and then I saw Bat's comment below. BAMF indeed. (yYy) You do realise that having her on all these social networking sites as well as me is hazardous, right? Because both of us will just spam you with shite at every opportunity. Soz pal.
Hahah "4 Life" bought me lulz. Indeed you have, I never will! Largely because I've already sold my soul to whisky. Though I wouldn't stretch as far as to say I can't function without it in a day because I think that would be bordering on a "problem"
I feel like death and it's YOUR fault, William! (I thought "William" worked better than "Wright" in this instance. ALSO I don't feel too bad right now because I got about 6 hours sleep, but I felt it necessary to get in there before you could)
He is awesome, one of my many youtube obsessions. And no probs, that would be quite a lot of effort to find that link! ALSO dear god that was horrific. I turned it down so much and it still made me cringe at how loud and unnecessary it was!
Ah yes, that was it. I can understand that, I enjoyed watching your reaction to the Jimmy0010 video I linked you to before. ALSO didn't you laugh at me going open mouthed with concentration over something? I could pretend to be offended by that, but I always find people doing that amusing so I'll let it slide.
