Wah! You scared me - lol! I wonder how much longer poor old last.fm can hold out against the tide :\ I love having my 'charts'! I thought I had an impressive number of scrobbles; but I'm dwarfed by your good self! I'm keeping an eye on your aural pleasures from now on Miss Patton!

*Looks at your weekly charts* ah, no, it was Andreas Ammer & FM Einheit - Radio Inferno! I'll put that on next :-) I got given some Harry Partch films recently, not had a chance to look at them yet. Looking forward to it though, I love that record where he's talking about his instruments. Hope you're keeping well sir.

Hey thanks for that Andy, will check it out. Glad you're enjoying Swing Tanzen Verboten, very cool series indeed. At the minute I'm just listening to Brazilian Sounds From Paris and it sounds like it may be another winner, loving it on just the first run-through, very funky. You know Louis Barfe? He encoded his Jazz 625 vids recently and put em on Demonoid...

Recommendation for you matey, Swing tanzen verboten,Swing Music & Nazi Propaganda Swing During World War II. Swing & jazz music was considered undesirable by the Nazis who worked hard to suppress it during World War II, while using it at the same time for propaganda purposes on the airwaves. This is the story of the battle they lost against this irrepressible music. its on Amazon, and is GREAt

Heh :-) I wonder what they'd make of something like On The Corner. Amazon seems to have them, but shipping from America. However, I got the Kill Your Idols DVD (ace No Wave documentary), and it was cheap and very fast. Oh hang on, HMV has them. I think they're *genuinely* complete, unlike (IIRC) the Bitches Brew ones.

It's realyl great, quite shocking in a way, very harsh and brutal childhood. You can see why ended up with such a fiery temper. I'm working through it slowly as I got loads of other music books too. Really love his stuff though, went for it in a big way in 2006. Will get Weird Nightmare, thanks!

Nice mix of styles...I'm surprised we aren't weekly neighbours, actually, cause I've been hitting a lot of the same stuff. Thelonious Monk, Django Reinhardt, Burning Spear, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington etc. Charles Mingus...there's one I've been meaning to get into for a while, any advice on where to start?
