The music of Mine to keep can be distinguished by strong melodies and the pure and characteristic voice of Helena Sundstrom. In 2006 she began to work on her solo project after having played in various band constellations through the years. She felt it was time to move on and to make something happen. There were so many melodies and words that needed to come out. The music of Mine to keep has been compared to Portishead, Beth Orton and Cat Power, but has a unique and personal sound. This is wilful, wistful pop music, full of drama below the somewhat calm surface.
The Mine to Keep debut album consists of nine songs recorded in 2009 and 2010 together with the musician Johan Frendberg.
