this is my favorite album of theirs, idc. i respect people that think this shouldn't be named after stp if Scott Weiland isn't here but the music in this album is still beautiful imo

the thing that really really sucks about this album is that i see what they were trying to do with it and how it felt like something different but the end product after all the professional editing and clean ups just feels like something that was already done better back in 01 with shangri la dee da. i hate country but maybe this should have stayed a bit rougher and rawer and sounded more like an old country record in how it was recorded and presented, would have helped it have more of it's own character. record it on analog tape, cut the glossy synths and keyboards out, etc. i don't inherently dislike that the band kept going, but there's no real progression present in any release that came out after 2010. rest in peace scott weiland.

If you're going into this expecting to hear the familiar sounds of STP then you'll be really disappointed, as it bears little resemblance to their previous work. If you enjoy some softer, acoustic music, and listen with an open mind, then you might really enjoy this album as I do.
