It has been a period of rapid growth for Modern Soul front-runners Silver Linings. Following their second studio album (and literal expansion from duo to trio) band members Françoise D’Argent, Benny Badge and Lachlan Peavey have wasted no time, dazzling new audiences on tours of Europe, UK and West Coast USA. With more hits on the horizon, this summer clocks the group at new altitudes with a sound as classic as it is cutting-edge.

For many, their debut was a bolt from the blue: a modernised brand of Jazz-kissed R&B made famous in the 80s, yet sorely missed and rarely done right since. Melbourne musicians dubbed it a ’scene record’, part of a small and affectionately named catalogue highlighting notable works. “So Good To You” received nomination for Best R&B Album at The Age Music Victoria Awards, became #4 bestselling album at Juno Records, the #6 Soul bestseller on Beatport and was charted in Vinyl Factory’s Best 10 Vinyl Releases, January 2017.

Fast-forward to “Don’t Make Tracks” and Silver Linings sounds like a band on the rise, their busy schedule proving a fine catalyst for strong songs and energetic performances. While undoubtedly R&B-driven, references to Jazz, Funk and global influences continue to shine bright as the trio delve into vibes far beyond their vintage. With 2019 in full bloom, Silver Linings are ready with new music to elevate the senses and soothe the soul.
