The band was founded in 2006 by Rodolfo Ciuffo. During the first years the band's activity was mainly focalized on practice in rehearsal room, looking for a solid line-up and trying to play various musical genres. In 2010 Seventh Genocide becomes a black metal band and with the introduction of Gabriele Nardiello (guitar), Michele Caucci (guitar) and In 2011 Valerio Primo (drums) a permanent line-up was instaured. After a self-titled demo released on CD in 2012 the band changed completely its approach to music in a more personal way and in 2013 published on Bandcamp a digital promo with two demo songs composed for a future album. The full-lenght "Breeze of Memories" was finally released in march 2015 on CD limited to 450 copies through Naked Lunch Records and on Tape through Red River Family Records. The music shows a crystalline and massive post-black metal sound merged with contemplative acoustic folk and post-rock passages. At the same time of the album launch the band changed line-up after 5 years of stability. With the introduction of Stefano Allegretti and Jacopo Gianmaria Pepe (both on guitar) Seventh Genocide evolved its sound and approach to songwriting in a considerable way. First album recorded with the new line-up is called "Toward Akina": an introspective journey through death and the realms of non-physical existence, with the intention to express the depth of human consciousness across a huge variety of musical influences. From dark atmospheric black metal soundscapes to trippy psychedelic and ambient layers. The album will be released in september 2017 on Digipak CD through Third-I-Rex, Wooaaargh and Chaotic Noise Prayers.
The name “Seventh Genocide” has nothing to do with violent, pro war or evil themes (neither in the more black metal period), it is a catastrophic metaphor for describe this society, where each human being is victim of a system based on self-destruction.
The band identify itself with anti-fascist, anti-racist and anti-capitalist ideologies.
