Fleshgod Apocalypse - Opera is miles ahead of Yesterwynde but somehow Kerrang! chose a mediocre album over it, yet they added Gatecreeper like they tried to have something death metal related yet missed the mark big time.

Yesterwynde is probably my favourite Nightwish album since Dark Passion Play. The best one with Floor BY FAR. Glad they went progressive and decoded to diversify their genre palette. Really suits them.

Wishmaster > Once > Century Child > Angels Fall First > Dark Passion Play > Ocean Born > Imaginaerum > Yesterwynde > Endless

I listened to Nightwish for the first time in 2000 during the Wishmaster/ Oceanborn era. Now after 5 listens of this album, I think this is definitely the BEST Nightwish album ever ! Their GOAT album ! I say this as a dude, who listens mainly to Progressive Metal, Folk and Classical Music. This album contains so many Classical music themes that I haven't heard in a metal album, since the super amazing early Haggard albums !! I wish that Tuomas wants to continue in this more Symphonic direction with less guitars, more dark atmosphere and more themes about Evolution, Biology and History, for at least 10 more albums !! About Floor, she has improved vocally, even more!! Hail Nightwish and their GOAT album YESTERWYNDE. Score 10 of 10 / 100%

Great band with the worst song titles

YW is the best album of the trilogy (EFMB - HN - YW) as far as I'm concerned. It's not that I dislike the previous 2, but I just love this one so much more. I like every single song of the album, for different reasons. Best tracks (IMO): Ocean of Strange Islands, Children of 'Ata, Spider Silk, The Weave.

THAT USELESS SON OF A BITCH TROY) latest tragipiece, brought to you as part of his endless series “Unnecessary Vowels”, YESTERWYNDE. I'll be adding this piece by piece because for my own sanity, you sons of bitches can't expect me to actually sit down and listen to FUCKING NIGHTWISH for MORE THAN ONE HOUR. That's just not happening. I'm fucking old now. I'll listen to Boom Boom Dollars for several hours on repeat, BUT THAT AIN'T NIGHTWISH.

I was disappointed, I was listening the album with so much excitement. Didn't like it at all, they couldn't live up to their reputation... .

Yesterwynde follows the trend of its predecessor Hvman Natvre, adding another weak album in the history of the band, it is not a bad album, but it does not surpass Endless Forms Most Beautiful or the Anette Olzon era. The Children Of 'Ata is the most powerful song on the album, it is my most honest opinion.

First listen of Yesterwynde: goosebumps and tears of joy. BUT: this is not for those who are going for the easy-listening and instant hits. This is for the ones who take the time, read the lyrics and actually give it a thought.

man, i was a huge nightwish fan back in the day when i was a teenager and i've kept up with them ever since, albeit not as into them now as i used to be, and rightly so i guess because wtf was that album 🥴 what a waste of talent & potential, like you got floor and kai ??? and you had marco until they fucked that up too... nightwish is dead man and has been for some time i'm sorry to say.

Bought the new album. Looked at it. Frowned. Sniffed it. Smelt bad. Threw the limited edition vinyl against the wall in anger and curve stomped it to pieces and then threw the pieces out of the window. Probably did not miss anything.

Ok, just finished listening to the album. It's... okay, I guess. Highly doubt it'll ever not be my least favourite Nightwish album. Anyway, one song that stood out to me: The Weave - love the 7 Days To The Wolves intro with the Imaginaerum Danny Elfman music and Floor in the outro. To me that really is a great song!

THE DAY OF....... Oh I totally missed this one. THE DAY OF... WHAT??? WHAT FUCKING DAY IS IT? Oh, the answer is, it's the day of Tuomas getting fucking drunk, watching the club scene from Blade, fucking his synthesizer, doing something weird for the 688th time today, and doing something actually SOMEWHAT FUCKING DIFFERENT for the first time in 30 years. The song is nothing special in a vacuum, sounds disjointed and stupid at times, but uh, for a second I didn't even think I was listening to Nightwish. And I fucking like that, because who the fuck actually listens to Nightwish? it's still not great (OF COURSE), but at least they sort of tried instead of using the same stupid fucking formula. Of course, they still used some of the shitty old moves from the Nightwish playbook, because it's still Tuomas. But Troy didn't sing. That's always worth at least a point. (7.75/10)
