If these two had been American or British, they would have had a string of hits in the US instead of just one; but since they are Dutch they get viewed as some sort of "novelty." I am American, so not only ashamed of the general tendency to dismiss any musicians who don't speak English as their first language, but I am also annoyed by how many great songs the general public don't even know exist.
