Singer songwriter 'Makio' was originally born in Nairobi, Kenya, on the east of coast of Africa. When he was still an infant, he moved with his mother to the U.S after his parents separated and settled in Baltimore, Maryland where he spent most of his early childhood. Growing up with a single mother and soon to be little brother, Makio became accustomed to moving around the East Coast and overseas to help his mother make ends meet.
