HOPE - Theophilus (no label RSR 691) 1974

Splendid batch of homemade country folkrocking originals from two guys and one gal known as Hope,
with musical assistance from a few of their friends.
Wholesome natural outdoor atmosphere, including moody pastoral hippie folkrock,
acoustic ballads, rural rock, gospel blues and mid-tempo head-bobbin’ toe-tappin’ tunes.
Mostly an acoustic focus plus a couple electric tracks, enhanced with ingredients like fiddle,
mandolin, piano, flute and harmonica, led by dreamy humble relaxed harmonies.
Sample titles include ‘Connection’, ‘God Fearin’ Woman – Good Christian Man’,
‘He Told Me Like It Is’, ‘I Saw Your Light’ and ‘Third Heaven & Earth’.
Similar in many ways to a lot of the early Maranatha country line-up,
yet with simpler production and a more authentic feel.
(The Archivist, 4th edition by Ken Scott).

Recorded in the country at – Appalachia Sound Studios
