When I first saw this CD, it was in the dollar bin at a record store in Boise. I took a look at it and saw an odd picture of an X-ray image of a baby holding a microphone inside of a TV. No joke. Written on the front cover, “These smash hits were recorded using toy instruments only!” I thought it would be good for a laugh, so I picked it up.
But what I found when I listened to the CD was a fun and enjoyable album. It sounds highly-polished and well-produced, and it has a very unique sound due to the toy instruments. It is truly one-of-a-kind. It even includes a surprisingly faithful cover of “What A Fool Believes” by the Doobie Brothers.
“I Am a Little Explosion,” the first track, is a nonsensical and crazy song which is a good introduction to the rest of the album. Other tracks I like on this album are “Hi, My Name’s Cindy,” a creepy tale of a blind date gone wrong, and “Dead Man” for its interesting and catchy lyrics (behind every smile there's a clown…
