After this hype I also was before, I can say that the new album is.. forgettable. Probably I forgot how old Roxette great is, but I relistened it recently and I can say that new album is nowhere near old quality, it lacks on guitars and memorable vocal & sound connection. It's not bad, it's just average, and Roxette is not average, so it's sad result.
The new album is the first time I have revisited this band since the early 90's. The album was completely forgettable but I did like 20 BPM, that was a good song. And yes Toma400 the album cover is a blatant rip off of Project Pitchfork... however, Pitchfork is such as unknown band to the poptards I guarantee the band did not do it intentionally.... I hope!
Yeah I doubt it was ripped off. The only thing in common really was a butterfly on the cover. Not really an original idea tbh. Plus I doubt Per and Marie rock out to Timekiller, let alone know what that even is ;)
After the first minute of the opening track "Why Don'tcha" I was a little concerned...but, with less than 24 hours to grow on me, Good Karma may be their strongest album since Joyride. And it does this without going backwards. This takes a lot more risks than even Have a Nice Day did when it came out. Very surprised, definitely digging the album!
