Martin O’Donnell (or “Marty”) is an American musical composer who is best known for his work with Bungie Studios composing the music and designing the sound for Halo: Combat Evolved, (Xbox, PC, Mac) , Halo 2 (Xbox & PC), Halo 3, Halo ODST. He’s one of only three remaining members at the company to have worked on titles as far back as Myth and has also worked on music and sound for Oni and Septerra Core: Legacy of the Creator. (A Valkyrie Studios title)

Founder of The Marty Army, a group of ‘Halo’ fans from around the world that follow Bungie and Marty himself via the Army website. Created on November 20th, 2001, the group has become one of the largest and best known of the many fan clubs dedicated to the games. With over 1500 members, The Marty Army has grown considerably in the years since the first ‘Halo’ game, and as the popularity of the franchise continues to build, so too does the group.

He also wrote the songs for the Flintstones Vitamin commercials and had both of his daughters lend their voices to the children’s choir used.

His most recent piece of publicly released music (Finish the Fight) was highlighted in the E3 2006 teaser trailer to Halo 3, where he used a 60-piece orchestra and a 24-piece choir for the score, which was performed by Northwest Sinfonia, the same orchestra used for Halo 2.

The project he is working on at this moment is once again for a Halo videogame, this time it’s Halo Reach which will we released fall 2010.
