why gothic need movie to find fans ? i came to Lacuna because Underworld movie soundtrack, and i came to Evanenescence because Daredevil or Matrix soundtrack ....

Good for Andrea for his excellent improvement on growling vocals. That said, it was unnecessary re-recording Comalies and changing his vocals.

Cristina said the new song didn't have anything to do with an upcoming album announcement. I wonder if maybe just a one-off single? the length of the song with that intro sounds like it could be the opening track to an album tho.

I actually like Comalies XX. It's not as atmospheric as original Comalies, but some of the arrangements and melodies are really good. I always liked both "new" and "old" Lacuna Coil so listening to Comalies in their new style (with growls and certain musical flair) is something refreshing.

Their early material is the best, the new Comalies is shit compared to the original and it is pathetic how they messed up trying to sound death metal, especially with a male singer that doesn't have a voice for that.

Why can't we link official videos for their songs here in last.fm? I don't mind hearing some live versions sometimes, but the overall quality of youtube live videos is annoying at least, and usually overcrowded... It's been a while since I spent a day listening to them, as I used to back when I had CDs...

ComaLies XX is trash! my favorite songs of the album Human and Daylight Dancer were both Destroyed. only Swamped opening and Angel punishment's can be digested, the rest is nothing but west of time and creativity. it simply more heavy album but without its soul or uniqueness.

I like the different take to the album. It's more or less exactly what I expected and it works fine as a companion to the original one. The thing I can agree with is that the growls in general is starting to feel overused. I almost wish that they made another album completely without it, or at least use it more sparingly so it's more effective.

the hatewave is like Queen re-released a night at the opera as dubstep album with 50 cent on vocals.

I think it’s ok to dislike a material but this is a new version of Comalies, not a SUBSTITUTE. I’ve seen a lot of comments saying “they ruined it” but… the old one is still here. There are two of them now. One can’t and won’t replace another. Thankfully they don’t do the same stuff over and over so it’s very nice to see old material recreated with the sound they do now. Also, they are very regular in releasing albums so it’s not like we were sitting here forever craving something.

Some good re-recordings - did enjoy the new Swamped and Tight Rope and a few others. Some tracks completely butchered and thus have been deleted from my Apple Music. Heaven's a Lie was awful, Angel's Punishment...

Comalies XX is fine, I honestly just wish they would have released a new album instead of a remake album. I think Unspoken XX is my favorite so far.

Comalies XX isn't hitting as hard as I hoped. I appreciate them trying to adapt the tracks to their newer (much more metal) style, but they've muted a lot of the original melodies in a way that doesn't quite work IMO. It's still a fun experiment regardless -- and I really hope Karmacode gets the same treatment down the line, because THAT is an album that could use some reinterpretation.

Eu sou muito fã da banda, desde 2004. Mas não posso mentir dizendo que eu gostei do Comalies XX. Quando eles disseram que iriam regravar eu não pude conter a animação, pensando que ia ser algo inovador e defendi a idéia até o fim. Mas achei a regravação muito monótona, bagunçada e/ ou desconexa (?) Eu sempre gostei do Andrea e sempre defendi os vocais dele, inclusive os mais “clean”, mas acho que exageraram muito nos guturais sendo isso o que mais me incomodou no álbum. Eu gosto muito dos vocais do Andrea, mas aqui ficou um gutural desencaixado com as melodias e com a voz da Scabbia (que está incrível como sempre), como se eles não tivessem dosado bem essa técnica vocal nas músicas, tornando o álbum XX muito desorganizado (o que eu sempre tive medo de acontecer desde que eles abraçaram mais esses guturais em Black Anima). Em Delirium, por exemplo, na minha opinião pessoal está tudo bem encaixado e harmonizado. Nada desconexo. (+)

I really prefer their newer albums over Comalies. They are maybe less melancholic and less... how to say it... gothic. But the melodies are much more to my taste. That said, I love Comalies too. I love everything they put up.
