this album is miles ahead in terms of production. janet and her producers were ahead of their time. but there's something awful with the mixing? it sounds like her voice gets lost in the instrumentals. in a certain way, it's a good thing because the album is all about sensations, but the lyricism and its potential can get pushed to the background

Clássico supremo do pop. Todas as meninas surgidas no Pop/R&B a partir do meio do anos 90 e do começo dos anos 2000 pegaram algum elemento desse álbum

Incrível como com Rhythm Nation 1814, esse e o Velvet ela estava muito adiantada em termos de produção, temáticas líricas e até estéticas pras respectivas épocas de lançamento... As fórmulas que ela criou respingaram em toda a nova safra do R&B daquele período, e até nos trabalhos das maiores referências do pop da época (Michael e Madonna) . É a maioral do R&B, e ninguém que ouse dizer o contrário.

Can this not be merged with the album tagged janet. I was surprised to find this album lower down my all-time album chart than I thought it would be. Turns out that the scrobbles have been split into two albums depending on the source of playback, this one for Spotify and "janet." on my PC. It's clearly the same album and it messes up my charts (yes, I'm a geek!).

I've been waiting years for this lol, and now it seems "Rhythm Nation 1814" and "Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814" have been separated accidentally too!

I noticed the 'Rhythm Nation' divide too. I think Spotify is the culprit. You can get all your tags labelled correctly on here and then Spotify throws a spanner in the works with their additional "Parental Advisory" labels that I can't do anything about.

It's really hard to decide a favorite Janet album because it always rotates between this, Rhythm Nation and Velvet Rope. But I always come back to this one and it's my go-to Janet album. The interludes are a little much but Janet's albums aren't complete without interludes. I love this record. Definitely instrumental in helping me come out as gay and exploring my sexuality.
