As asserted by Denzel Curry, “Black Balloons Reprise” is the sequel to “BLACK BALLOONS | 13LACK 13ALLOONZ” and is the prequel to “THE BLACKEST BALLOON | THE 13LACKEZT 13ALLOON” both from Denzel’s 3rd studio album, "TA13OO".
Similarly to the 2 other tracks, the song sees Denzel elaborating on his mental struggles and on how pain and depression—represented in the metaphor of the black balloon—affects society and remains a taboo. As expressed in the chorus, the tone of the song is very pessimistic:
"We all cry
The day the black balloon explodes, we all die
Nobody couldn’t handle the truth, we all lie…"
