“you should see me in a crown” is the debut single from Eilish’s highly anticipated debut album. The singer first teased the song in an Instagram Story on June 15th, 2018 also saying: "LOOKOUT FOR THIS 1"
The song’s artwork and length were leaked online two days before the surprise drop.
The artwork features crowns and spiders, both symbols that are recurrent in Eilish’s social media posts. The song was premiered on BBC Radio 1; where Eilish shared with the host, Annie Mac, that the title of the song was inspired by a scene in the popular BBC tv show, “Sherlock”: "We wrote this song ‘cause of Sherlock, actually, 'cause there’s a scene where Jim Moriarty says, “You should see me in a crown” and me and my brother were like 'hey that’s jiggy as fuck'. Then we just sorta made the song about being jiggy I guess, and you should see me in a crown, so there it is.
