The profile pic is hilarious 😂 - they are looking for people that had bad experiences with this campaign. They found me through some comments I made on another page, and I volunteered to spread the word on here

Huge ball drop on his Winter Woods Kickstarter. Two years later and vinyl is just now (maybe) going out within the week. That doesn't even include the other stuff in the campaign that hasn't been delivered, like the Fantasy vinyl.

I am sad about how his career panned out. He was arguably the most talented and innovative member of dcTalk and he got left by the wayside, limited by the genre he was in and the closed-minded audience he had to gear his music towards. He has the sexiest voice...I feel robbed of years of good music he could have made if he had not let these beasts tell him what to do.

I'm not a Dc Talk fan, but I am impressed with some of Kevin's solo stuff. Drawing on some different influences and styles, from Blind Willie Johnson, gospel, country, Larry Norman, Joy Division, alternative rock to electronic. Nothing like replying to your comment 6 years later!

As dark_illumine said KMax is often associated with those artists because he's a Christian or was a Christian artist at one point. "Christian" is sort of a genre in itself, if you'd said that to me about 3/4 years ago I would have strongly contested but I've come to realize that it's very true. Kevin along with a few other notables defy that genre showing that you can still be Christian but don't have to sound like most of what is Christian out there. As I have, abandon that music without still abandoning your faith.

I love, love, LOVE Stereotype Be and The Imposter...but I'm unimpressed with The Blood. Sounds too much like what he was venturing away from (dc Talk pop sound). Not that dc Talk weren't OK for their purpose, but honestly, I think his aforementioned solo albums blow away anything they ever did.

He's so much better than the talentless middle-age-crisis-caricature that is TobyMac. TobyMac is the Vanilla Ice of the Christian music world. Max's voice is one of the best ever IMO.
