I think this is a pretty good album. Nowhere as as good as it's predecessor (Spectres) or successor (Cultosaurus) but far better than Agents of Fortune or Revolution, two albums which are much higher regarded than this one by most critics and fans.

Not exactly sure how it happened, but this ended up tying with Spectres as my most-played out of them all. Which isn't to say it's necessarily the best, but precisely because the black-n-white period still retains that sacrosanct aura demanding full ritualistic attention, Mirrors can always be spun on a moment's notice and only ever seems to get better each time. By now this is one of my favourite records by anyone....fuck yeah

Plenty of good songs here. It's just not as memorable as most of their other albums. No real hits.

I've listened to all albums to this one, chronologically, and I have to say that this is their weakest one for now. I like five out of nine songs, with [track artist=Blue Öyster Cult]Moon Crazy[/track], [track artist=Blue Öyster Cult]The Vigil[/track] and [track artist=Blue Öyster Cult]I am the storm[/track] as the best ones on the album and excellent compared to [artist]Blue Öyster Cult[/artist] in general, while [track artist=Blue Öyster Cult]Dr. Music[/track] and [track artist=Blue Öyster Cult]In Thee[/track] are very good.

I cannot for the life of me understand why this album is looked down upon. Dr music is corny but catchy, Sun Jester is great. The Vigil is just total pure BOC genius and that bit where he sings 'Our days are numbered' over the fast arpeggio type riff and then Buck's gorgeous solo comes in ..spine tingling. Even the poppy tracks aren't that bad.

Love that riff in The Vigil. Durrr di di durrr durrr durr di di durrr durrrrrr.... amazing. Such a good album, with some under-rated gems. Check out the solo in Moon Crazy. One of Buck's best ever in my opinion.
