Such an underrated album. Ian Gillan did such a great job with the vocals. Very sinister sounding and unlike anything I’ve heard in Deep Purple.

One of Black Sabbaths top albums for me, i think BS never sounded so fucking evil.

Really like this album. Iommi and Gillan is an amazing combo. Maybe they should have used another band name (like "Who Cares" when they worked together angain) good stuff

If you like this album, or just don't remember it you are luckier than me, but I don't see what you could have against those genres then, not that I do, and really arguing about genre is pointless regardless since it's basically all opinion with a lot of overlap. Off the top of my head from the tracks I hate: relisten to to Trashed, Zero the hero again and compare to any radio hair metal bullshit you want. Personally what I find interesting about my favorite Black Sabbath tracks is there like Blues and Jazz influences that come through on the early stuff and they threw out and basically any interesting ideas from the lyrics for whining. Then the track Born again is a highlight for me, but it and Keep it warm are pretty easy listening although I don't know what that genre really even is about and I don't care to find out, but if you showed that or the other stuff to a random person who hadn't heard it and asked them what band it came from; no shot they guess Black Sabbath.

I always loved this album/incarnation of Black Sabbath. I really wish it lasted longer, but judging from the troubled making/tour it was never meant to be,

Excellent Black Sabbath album! One of their best albums, in my opinion. I love Ian Gillan's vocals on this album. I wish they kept him for another album.

I'm disappointed that I only have 70 scrobbles on this one. Might have lost a lot between changing accounts. Fucking love it!

The most overlooked album in Sabbath's catalog. Gillan's vocals are great here. The title track might be my favorite from them, love that "ancient" atmosphere.

One of the heaviest of all Sabbath records, with some amazing singing by Ian Gillan (hard to believe he was having issues with throat issues -- I believe throat nodules -- around this time. Listen to those fucking high notes!), brutal drumming from Bill Ward, and of course Iommi fucking killing it on the axe. This has some of his sludgiest, noisiest playing ever, and it's glorious. Classic record.

When you play this on a stereo where you have the ability to turn down the bass, it sounds incredible. Really heavy, Gillan's voice is in great shape, and Iommi's riffing is excellent on this one. Lyrics and Gillan's insane screaming are hilarious at times on this one, something that you don't associate with Sabbath. "But there was no tequila!"

Hot Line and Digital Bitch are some of Black Sabbath's best songs and let's not pretend otherwise.

“When I returned from holiday, I found they’d sent me a bundle of 20 ‘Born Again’ albums. I looked at the cover and puked. I put the LP on the turntable and was disgusted by it. It was just garbage. In a rage, I smashed all of the 20 albums to pieces.” Ian really loves the album

Excellent ''Black Purple'' album. Ian Gillan would be a great vocalist for Black Sabbath but sadly only this stuff was recorded. Honestly I would like to listen Ian Gillan with more albums in Black Sabbath. Disturbing The Priest is easily a classic!

I went here to write the exact same thing. Everything about this album is perfect, not to mention Iommi's insane riffing and the silly, funny lyrics.

The last two songs ain't that good, but overall I'd say it's my favourite Sabbath album. Gillan's vocals are amazing (no surprise there, though) and can't even be compared to Ozzy's or Dio's. Disturbing the Priest is my personal favourite - probably because it sounds like they were trying to beat Judas Priest at their own game with the whole album (therefore disturbing the Priest).

Musically its a great album. Production is balls but the songs themselves are good.
