Biography
chimp&z, aka Jordan Farrow, started out with the piano, trumpet and tuba, and got his first synth when he was 13.
Born in San Francisco, CA and raised in nearby Pacifica, a love for creative expression quickly bloomed. In his early years, he was most influenced by turntablism (Invisible Scratch Pickles), rap (EPMD, Big Daddy Kane, Eric B and Rakim, Public Enemy) and hip hop (and there are rumors of two albums, "3 Days in the Basement" and "The Fourth Day in the Basement" where he raps as "Jester"). In college, he was introduced to electronic music properly, with key influences like Moby, 808 State, and Acen; labels such as MURK and Instinct.
He started composing songs in high school, and started releasing music some years later on the MOD scene. Currently, chimp&z still vacillates between floor-stomping tracks and quiet, laid-back grooves.
