This politically-charged song by AJJ was released at an important moment in the tenure of President Donald Trump – the aftermath of the Kavanaugh Supreme Court hearing on September 27, 2018, where Christine Blasey Ford testified about her allegation that nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her in the early ‘80s. The Senate Judiciary Committee voted the following day to advance the nomination with a positive recommendation.

The Night of the Long Knives that the song refers to was an incident wherein Adolf Hitler ordered executions of Ernst Röhm and members of the Sturmabteilung, the Nazis' paramilitary organisation, because of concerns that they would usurp his power. Its invocation is intended to imply that this is just what President Donald Trump is setting up for – he has no loyalty to the members in power of the Republican Party, not having strong ties to the party apparatus, and he will easily and gladly dispose of them if he thinks they are treading too much on his toes. The song also implores these establishment Republicans to then stand up to the so-called “fascist” Trump, for the good of all.
