ZAYN returns to the music scene with “Better,” the lead single from his third album, Nobody Is Listening. Fans speculated the song hints at ZAYN’s lover Gigi Hadid about giving second chances and finding a way back to love. The release marks the first major record since his 2018 sophomore album Icarus Falls.
The chorus of “Better” interpolates Kasey Cisyk’s “You Light Up My Life,” which is more widely recognized by Debby Boone’s chart-topping 1977 cover.
The song was initially found through a song repertoire on 23 September 2020. A few hours later, ZAYN announced the song with video teases on social media, along with a link to its video premiere, confirming the song’s existence.
