Wurlitztraction is the music of Chris Reid and came to life in 2004. Reid, a fledgling sound engineer/artist/designer and musician, embarked on the project with a desire to build on some previous attempts to record hip-hop and the experience gained playing in bands. He came up with an idea to combine all he loved about instrumental music particularly IDM, Dub, Kraut/Post-rock, Musique Concrète, Ambient/Minimal, Trip-hop and Jazz in an attempt to create a simultaneous blend of each style.
