Wormrot represents what REALLY is grindcore nowadays. Some time ago, we had bands like Discordance Axis, Gridlink, Assuck and Nasum making the best to transform the genre in a world of insanity and beauty. Actually, the singapore grind guys, do their job in the best way that's possible.
I really dig the near-melancholic vibe in some parts of the tracks like compassion is dead and Outworn. I think it's a good experimental thing that should've come up in their previous albums. New album is best album. Definitely. And you know it's a good thing when the newest album of a band is their best. Grind on!!!
Hollow Roots is the best 56 seconds of my life so far. They have managed to create a new noise on this album but also keep true to their roots in grindcore. The pure hard work and passion that has gone into this is obviosus right from the start.
Hollow Roots and Shallow Standards remind me a little of Gridlinks sound of Longhena, its almost like melodic grindcore but without losing the brutality. I would also love to hear more stuff like Outworn from them.
Comparing to them for what both bands bring to table, not camparing their style or smth. For example I like Feastem and Mumakil more than Wormrot, both bands lack of something to me which I found often in Nasum and finally with Wormrot. As much as chaos, they have emotion in their music which actually reminds me Nasum.
