Big TV was a great album, Friends is just okay I guess. It has a few great moments, but I will enjoy listening to it as it's 10 more songs by one of my favourite bands. To Lose My Life vol. 2 is not happening and I don't know why it should - it's my favourite ever album (criminally underrated) and there will surely not be another contender (by White Lies) to replace it. And I am more than fine with it.
Guys...I don't want to spoil the party and i know that it's a matter of taste. But personally I think that their unique vibe disappeared from their music in Big TV and now this album, Friends. It's boring, generic and this "uplifting" sound, omg, definitely a flope. When I listened to "To Loose My Life..." I thought they are gonna be so big. Now it's just a snoozefest, generic hipster sound in a worst way (but they weren't hipsters when they debuted, wtf!). Sadly, something is really gone from their music, and I think it won't come back. Sad, but it's just my personal feelings.
It's a flope, snoozefest and lyrics are somewhat laughable and pathetic, worse than Big TV. I don't know I think I lost interest for this band, they destroyed everything that made them unique. Not to mention that all these sounds were much better done by hundred bands in 80's and it was authentic. This is just a bleak copy of a copy of a copy. And it's so greasy, sorry I vomited and can't relate.
