that 'symphonic black metal' tag still bothers me, they ain't symphonic mang! anyway what I love about Vinterland is that I can feel every riff, they all are so fucking powerful. it's nothing like the myriad of 'riffless' bands out there, it's just some noise.. but Vinterland's got riffs that slay!
I was a kid when they were originally active and I haven't been able to see them since their reunion. I actually have not seen live any of the bands I listen to so I guess I'm not a real fan of any band then
well for their style there are few bands able to be catchier, as memorable, easy-to-listen, or as well written, its true. this band can get people to listen who don't normally enjoy black or extreme metal on a regular basis.
Facinated by the fact that the lyrical matter in a lot of black metal and especially its melodic deviations revolve mainly around fantasy elements and themes of out of body experiences, transendance of mortal life, nostalgic longing, immortality and of course death/darkness.
