These two tracks are part of over 5000 recordings made by legendary British producer Joe Meek, the master tapes for which are up for auction at the Fame Bureau’s ‘It’s More Than Rock’n’Roll’ rock memorabilia auction on September 4th 2008. The tapes are expected to fetch around £300,000. Joe Meek (1929 – 1967) was one of the most important producers in British pop history. His most famous production is the Tornados’ 1962 smash Telstar (notorious as Margaret Thatcher’s favourite piece of music).
