It's not bad tagging, it's how it actually works when you have the soundtrack of a film that includes several different artists. The album artist will always have to be tagged as "Various artists" (don't think it needs further explanation) and then you have the individual song artists
@newmetallic That's not how it works. Like everything else these days, Last.fm treats Album Artist and Artist differently (as it should). This is an Artist page. Album Artist pages don't exist. The only reason this page is here is people scrobbling music with Various Artists in the Artist field. Also, I'm not really sure why you singled out film soundtracks. The argument would apply to any kind of compilation.
Any compilation yes, just used an example of film soundtracks. I’ve scrobbled many other albums or compilations tagged from various artists. Yet I have 0, ZERO plays on various artists. Who is tagging their songs under various artists in the top listeners box? Eye of the Tiger by Various Artists? No Sir, that is bad tagging at its finest.
I suppose this is mildly better than the thousands of album pages created where people / ancient software has used the artist as the album artist. One different album for every track. The opposite to this I guess.
