Les Chansons d'amour is the album of the soundtrack of Christophe Honoré's homonymous film, released in May 2007 on the Naïve label. The album consists of fourteen songs that punctuate the film. The songs are each interpreted by the actors of the film themselves, and in their great majority by the main characters of the film that are Ismaël (Louis Garrel), Julie (Ludivine Sagnier), Alice (Clotilde Hesme), Jeanne (Chiara Mastroianni) and Erwann (Grégoire Leprince-Ringuet).
The songs are original compositions by Alex Beaupain, composer of the music and songs of Christophe Honoré's previous films, like Dans Paris (2006) or 17 times Cécile Cassard (2002), and friend of adolescence of the director1. The script of the film was built around four songs from the composer's first album, "Boy of Honor", and ten others that "already belonged to his repertoire or that he wrote especially for our story that starts from very personal facts, "says Christophe Honoré1. The songs were all recorded before the shoot, and the album is directed and arranged by Frédéric Lo. Recorded at Mélodium studio by Jonathan Masterson, the songs were mixed at the studio La Truite by Yann Arnaud.
