  • Singer/Songwriter Lyrics Quiz

    4 Oct 2008, 13:02 by RandyB1961

This one is gonna be pretty easy; Hopefully, everybody will know at least one or two of these. OK, maybe not too easy.
Remember, trust your own memory; NO GOOGLING!
Each entry consists of the first 1 or 2 lines from a song by a well-known Singer/Songwriter
Remember: All lyrics are the original songwriter's version.

    1. Now I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
    Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen

    2. Hoverin' by my suitcase tryin' to find a warm place to spend the night
Rainy Night In Georgia by Tony Joe White

    3. We had an apartment in the city,
Me and Loretta liked living there.
Hello In There by John Prine

    4. She came on to him like a slow movin' cold front
His beer was warmer than the look in her eyes
Icy Blue Heart by John Hiatt

    5. I was eighteen, my brother was twenty-one
Down the River by Chris Knight

    6. Oh, the ragman draws circles
    Up and down the block.

    5 Mar 2008, 16:26 by koichihanafusa

The Blind Boys Of Alabamaなんてぶっ飛びませんでしたか? Go Tell It on the Mountain。 There Will Be a Lightも買っているし、その前後に行われたときのライヴDVD、Live at the Apolloも手に入れました。

  • Christmas gift mix

    12 Dec 2006, 03:51 by Uhwelluh

A mix of stuff as Christmas gift for a friend along with a dvd copy of Welles' Touch of Evil. Somebody told me Tony Joe White's song is properly spelled Poke Salet Annie. The Requiem for OMM 2 is a live acoustic thing that holds up fine compared to the studio version.

    Yes/No – Bunky
Polk Salad Annie – Tony Joe White
On The Surface – Pere Ubu
    Candlelighted – Serena-Maneesh
    Where – The Godz
    Snowden – Doves
The Other Side of Paradise – Hoo Doo Gurus
This Beard is for Siobhan – Devendra Banhart
    Mercy – Wire
    Slow Me Down – Aberfeldy
    Hugebaby – Penguin Café Orchestra
Radio Silents – Young Marble Giants
Over the Neptune/Mesh Gear Fox – Guided by Voices
    Porcelain – Clientele
    Sooner – Asobi Seksu
    Bossa Velha – Herbie Mann
    I’m So Green - Can
    Postcards from Italy – Beirut
Requiem for OMM 2 – of Montreal
    Red/Blue – Mean Red Spiders

    and some other stuff--

    to Margueritte
    -Jean Shepherd 12/25/1963 & 12/31/1963

    to Tim
    -Amon Duul II – Yeti
    -Asobi Seksu – Citrus

  • Newsletter Mygmusique - 02 Octobre 2006

    7 Oct 2006, 17:36 by Haazheel

  • A Belated Look at New Albums or Is Summer Over Yet?

    30 Sep 2006, 01:01 by blues_hound

Damn! I hate the heat! Love the desert but hate the heat. I'd rather have sunburn than frostbite though, which is why The Boss and I chose this little cactus paradise. When the temp hits 110F I scoot indoors, hide under the bed, and snooze until Fall. Which is my way of apologizing for the absence of journal entries. All of you must have been waiting in suspense all summer for my next entry. Right. And there's a pile of WMDs under the cat's litter box. The temperature sneaked under 99F today so I thought I would exercise these paws on the word processor.

Falling mercury wasn't the only thing that woke me from my voluntary limbo. The Boss had the TV on Fox News and I heard the dulcet tones of former President Clinton. Dulcet like a hornet! He was berating Chris Wallace fo attempting the usual hit job FOX does on anyone left of Anne Coulter. All I can say is kudos for Big Bill. It's about time someone put that swarmy Chris Wallace in his place and called FOX on their sorry excuse for journalism. …
  • Why, oh, why...

    5 Aug 2006, 18:22 by BraMMS

I have been thinking - a friend recommended me LastFM and I decided to lose some time figuring out what's this all about, so there I was...
And I made an username and a pass and then started to browse through other peoples' playlists and... Well I've realized that I'm incredibly boring! Tony Joe White is on my "music menu" for the past three months (can't stop listening to him!), a lot of Whitesnake (that one I can't stop listening since last March!) and some occasional other things... Who'd want to know that!?

    Stay safe! :)
