I don't understand Hungarian and I haven't searched for the translations yet, but in those few tracks that I've listened to (mostly on "Sgurr) I detected some science-related words. So, do these guys sing science-themed songs?
This guy is such a talent, still can't believe that Thy Catafalque and related projects came out from Hungary. And I should admit, this is so great that everything is in Hungarian language. I'm sooo in love ^-^ <3
New album is a bit hit or miss. The first half left me a bit dissapointed (The only great song there is Siraly), but from Malmok Jarnak on it is perfection, and Malmok Jarnak itself is a true atmospheric masterpiece. Overall, I did miss the coherence and adventureness of Sgurr for the first half, but the rest did make up for it.
Maybe that's the point, in my opinion Thy Catafalque made one of the AOTYs of 2016, but I sure can say that I heard this before. But well, I haven't expected anything really new, maybe luckily I was needing just more this Thy Catafalque which I loved so much and "Meta" perfectly fits this longing, bringing also some sadness and despair to its sound. Songs like "Sirály", "Uránia" or "Mezolit" still gives me shivers while listening to them.
New album is interesting and can be awesome. Seems a bit like coming back to heaviness from Rengeteg, but in veery different style. Also, it's atmospheric as I expected it to be. Probably it will grew on me with each listen, as I'm just listening it in full for first time. :>
So happy I found this music (as well as all past projects of Tamás). Incredible mix of avant-garde metal with best traditions of Hungarian music. The music I was seeking for! /// Tamás is one of a kind!
Yup, I can say quite exactly the same - Róka hasa rádió and Rengeteg are perfect releases for me, when Sgùrr loses a bit of this "feeling". But even with this it's very good album and imho it's their third best album so far.
