There are 2 artists that perform under the name 'The Wife Beaters'.

1) 'the wife beaters' are a comedy rap group consisting of two members, leroy mace (formerly easy bake) and yung mar. They were formed in 2016 originally under the name of 'yung mar & easy bake', changing the group name to 'white niggas' in April of 2017 with the release of compilation album 'there's a obvious cumstain on my underwear', and then again to 'the wife beaters' in February of 2019 with the release of their eighth album, 'the end of chilly'.

2) The Wife Beaters are a garage punk rock 'n' roll band who claim to hail from the town of 'Burgerville'. They released their second album, 'Hit 'em Again!', in October 2012.

Likened to the Ramones, The Cramps and The Damned, they have been described as playing "infectious gutter punk" with "a tongue in their cheek and snot on their sleeves".

According to the band, The Wife Beaters were formed in a Burgerville trailer park by frontman Vic Vitol, a convicted graverobber, and guitarist Lew Lewis. They released their self-titled debut album, The Wife Beaters, in March 2011 with Tom Temper playing bass and Alex Anger, who apparently met Vic Vitol in a knife-fight, on the drums.

The band's name caused controversy at some live shows, with people apparently tearing down posters and spitting on their name when it was billed outside venues. Legend has it that one local venue made the decision never to put on live music again following a Wife Beaters gig.

The line-up recorded their follow-up album the following year and 'Hit 'em Again!' was released in October 2012. Before the album came out the band were forced into a line-up change. Eddie Eval, a former Hollywood stuntman, joined on bass, followed by guitarist Jimmy Jail upon his release from the state penitentiary.

They returned in the summer of 2013 with their raucous 17-track comeback LP, 'The Beat Goes On!', followed by a ghoulish limited-edition Halloween-themed EP titled 'Trailer Park of Terror!' later that year.

In 2014, after some early brushes with the law and physical violence at shows, The Wife Beaters attempted a bank robbery in desperation. The authorities rounded the gang up and kept them in jail untill their triumphant release on a technicality. The band celebrated with a new single in December.
