I'm still awed by Joe Byrd , Bond , and the sound of the other collective Field Hippies .
Amazingly I still have the vinyls and first CDs ... What was it Fitz Hugh Ludlow said about "holding on to that which is truly good" ?
Like "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite" on belladonna... I listened to this the very first time I got high... Joe Byrd was a visionary, and Dorothy Moskowitz is in Grace Slick territory, but with a cool, detached allure... Love the ring modulator!
I just love the way her voice gets more and more distorted the longer the song goes on. Fantastic album, one of the best Psych albums ever. Listening to Fifty Foot Hose now and don't like their noisy tuneless, violent sound. MUCH better is "The Spoils of War" self-titled album. Lots of electronic sounds and some sweet songs as well, AND a great female singer is there too! AND they did 2 albums! So go check out "The Spoils of War." Yes they are on here but I dunno if any songs are there. Just d/l the albums by searching on http://captaincrawl.com
-it will show up straight away & u can d/l it straight from the music blogs. Have fun!
