Two bands shared this name:

1) Northern Irish power pop band, released four singles, a live album and a compilation album. They disbanded in 1982. Their Studio album that was partly recorded when the original band slip in 1980 has now been assembled and available to purchase from http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_music.cfm?bandID=143015

2) The Tearjerkers were an American band from the early 80s formed in Syracuse, New York that featured Tom Kenny (voice of SpongeBob SquarePants) as lead vocalist. Other members were Dave DeCirce, Charlie Robbins, and Dave Soule. Their song "Syracuse Summer" is included in The History of Syracuse Music: Volumes XII & XIII. The Tearjerkers' roadie, Bobcat Goldthwait, went on to become a successful actor and comedian.
