Biography
The Smubbs were a short lived but eccentric psychedelic rock band that came about at the tail-end of the 1960s. Comprised of writer and singer Richard Segall, drummer and percussionist Vinny Villany, rhythm guitarist George Utter, bassist Steven Shene, and lead guitarist Jerry Davis.
With a limited discography consisting of only one real album and a few scattered singles, The Smubbs never really saw much popularity.
With a few more keepers maybe they could’ve been something, but as it stands that’s where The Smubb’s story ends.
Years later The Smubbs are enjoyed by a select few, filling that niche of solid underground psyche-rock and lovely late 60s melodies. With lyrics ranging from the delightfully corny, to the surprising insightful.
