On December 2, 2016, The Rolling Stones released their first studio album in over 10 years, entitled "Blue & Lonesome" (2016) on the Polydor label. This 12-track album is their first studio album since "A Bigger Bang" in 2005 and represents the band's 25th studio album. "Blue & Lonesome" (2016) is a collection of blues covers which takes the band back to their roots. The album was produced by Don Was and The Glimmer Twins and recorded over 3 days in December 2015 at the British Grove Studios in London, UK. The album features some of the longtime touring team, Matt Clifford, Darryl Jones and Chuck Leavell, and Eric Clapton makes a guest appearance for 2 tracks.
