Fantastic album. I think this is the perfect balance of their punk roots and the more 'pop' sound of their later records. Sure, some of the songs could be described as filler, but I don't think the album would have worked without them. Love each and every song on this one.

I used to prefer Tim to this when I was a teen, but damn is this amazing. Definitely my favorite early alternative rock/college rock album. Raspy power-pop that perfectly expresses the feeling of growing up - after it's already happened. (Maybe I preferred Tim because "Sixteen Blue" was a little to on-the-nose for my life situation at the time.)

@KHsonicdude23 No way man, Sixsteen Blue is brilliant. Anyway, Tim is the one with the (very few) weak moments. This one, however, is damn well perfect.

Unsatisfied is superb. Black Diamond is the only loser on the album. But even then it just adds to the album's garage rock charm.

The better Let It Be [3] this album is beautiful, pretty much embodies everything I love 80's alternative/indie rock.

This perhaps comes closest to summing up why I love the 'mats and it expresses the style that I live in when they're my life's soundtrack.
