Biography
The Outsiders UK originated from Colne Lancashire (home of the Hollies and the Milltown Brothers). They were an amalgamation of Lancashire R n B band the Outsiders and Mancunian metal band Touched. They released 3 studio albums for Planet Records, starting with Skin 1990, then Ripped Shirt 1993 and finally Black Shoes and Travelling TV. Reformed as 5 piece after 15 years break in 2016 with a new album release called "Everything's gone vintage". The group included at times, Mel Outsider, Liam McCartan, Mark Caffrey, John Hull, Peter Rowlands, Martin Schofield, Paul Edmondson, Martin Bradley, Chris Hartley, Andy wilkinson, Keiron Melling, Matt Pawson, Peat Hicks, Usually a 4 piece, members came and went during the bands lifespan. They toured Holland on a regular basis and played endless gigs around the UK, often opening for Dr Feelgood, The Sweet, Jack Bruce, Chicken Shack, Saxon and others. Live shows often descended into chaos and the audience were always kept on edge awaiting which band would perform. Although the writing displayed a quirky thoughtful subject matter and melody, the live shows were very light hearted and fun fuelled.
