The final song on Frances the Mute. It is 32 minutes and 32 seconds long. Owing to a dispute between the band and the record label, all CD pressings have it arbitrarily divided into eight tracks, because otherwise, the band would only have been paid an EP's worth of wages (even though the album is seventy-eight minutes long). Despite this, it has five movements:
LP editions have it divided across two sides. Newer digital releases restore the song to its intended 32½ minute length.
It's not clear where the band intended the divisions between movements to fall; the only thing that is entirely clear is that "Sarcophagi" makes up the final 54 seconds of the song, and the CD divisions do not reflect the band's intended movements. One possibility is "Tarantism" 0:00-11:26, "Plant a Nail in the Navel Stream" 11:26-21:03, "Faminepulse" 21:03-28:41, "Multiple Spouse Wounds" 28:41-31:38, "Sarcophagi" 31:38-32:32. Wikipedia, instead, currently lists "Tarantism" 0:00-0:39, "Plant a Nail in the Navel Stream" 0:39-4:45, "Faminepulse" 4:45-21:12, "Multiple Spouse Wounds" 21:12-31:38, "Sarcophagi" 31:38-32:32
