The Interferons were formed in Glasgow, Scotland in 1999. Then called False Address, they featured Claire McCann (vocals, guitar), Stuart Snowden (drums), Luke Vollar (guitar) and Mark Woffenden (vocals, bass). They self-released an EP which was sold exclusively at gigs. After Snowden left in 2000 Dougie Laing joined on drums and the band changed their name to The Interferons.
