Wiki

The only album by San Francisco-based band The Gault, released on CD in 2005 (Flood the Earth (US) and Amortout Records (Fr)) and on vinyl in 2007 (Ván Records (De)). The album seems to have been written or recorded long before its release date; the copyright date is listed as 1999 on the LP, though it's not clear if that refers to songwriting or recording date.

The CD has a hidden track after "Hour Before Dawn". The song proper is 11:30; the hidden track runs for about 1:50. The LP features an altered track order (probably to avoid having more than twenty-five minutes of music on side C, which would have raised the noise floor), with slight alterations to a few of the track names:

A1. Ire - 2:57
A2. Obliscence - 9:46
B1. Hour Before Dawn - 11:30
B2. County Road (Six Miles In) - 12:05
C1. Outer Dark - 13:06
C2. Bright White Blind - 8:14
D1. Shore Becomes the Enemy - 13:26
D2. Outro - 1:50

"Outro" is the hidden track from the CD. "Outer Dark" is longer on the LP version because the CD version of "County Road, Six Miles In" ran directly into it; since they were separated for the vinyl edition, it was given a new opening. ("Outer Dark" also ran directly into "The Shore Becomes the Enemy" on the CD, but the alteration in this case was mostly just a hard separation.)

Attentive listeners may notice that the beginning of "The Shore Becomes the Enemy" features a reprise of the melody from "Ire".
